There are plenty of toilets(restrooms) which can be located throughout each the terminal building. The toilets can be found from initial check in through departures, arrivals , both before and after security. The majority of toilets have unisex toilets which are accessible by wheelchair. This may be inside the main toilets for either men or women, the signs are can be seen clearly to distinguish between the toilets. Parents are allowed to use the unisex accessible toilets if they have a child of the opposite sex.
Terminal 1
Check in: Toilets providing wheelchair access and baby changing facilities can be found near zone A and B and also for wheelchair access near zone L ,M and P and check in for Air New Zealand.
Departures: Toilets can be found for men and women with the majority providing disabled and baby care facilities at various location throughout the departures concourse
Arrivals: Toilets that are suitable for wheelchair access and toilets that have baby care facilities are situated in the Baggage reclamation area and also near the American Express bureau de change in the UK and Ireland arrivals area on the 1st floor. Additional toilets are available on the ground floor arrivals with toilets that have wheelchair access and provide baby changing situated near the information desk.
Showers: The only shower available within Terminal 1 is located in the Urban Retreat which has minimum charge of £ 15 for 15 minutes. Include in the rice the use of towels, soap, shampoo together with free coffee and tea. Massage chairs are also available and a good choice of treatments for that will help you unwind, such as Indian head, facials and nail treatments.
Terminal 2
Check In: Situate on the ground floor toilets are available at each end of the check in area with wheelchair accessible toilets available near the stairs to 1st floor departures. There are no toilets with baby care facilities.
Departures: Toilets that have disabled access and baby care facilities can be found on the first floor Mezzanine level where most of the restaurants are, this can be accessed via lift and stairs.
Arrivals: Toilets can be found throughout the baggage reclaim area with toilets suitable for wheelchairs users near the post office on the arrivals concourse and on the mezzanine level one near the lift and the other next to JD Wetherspoons restaurant.
Terminal 3
Check In: Toilets are available near zones B and next to zone F and G both have a disabled access toilets.
Departures(Before security):Toilets are available at each end of the first floor with baby changing facilities situated near the tree bells restaurant. There are no disabled accessible toilets in this area
Departures(After security): Toilets are located at each end of the departures lounge to the left just after security and the far right after security with accessible toilets at both ends. Baby care rooms are situated across from WH Smiths to the right of the terminal after security.
Showers: A family room is provided behind the smaller world duty free shop, which has a shower and changing room and baby changing facilities
Arrivals: Toilets are situated in the baggage reclamation area next to the Star Alliance baggage office and opposite Bite in the public area.
Terminal 4
Check In: Toilets suitable for all including wheelchair accessible and baby changing rooms can be located between zones A and B, between zone C and D and the check in area of zone E. Additional toilets can be found on the Mezzanine level not suitable for disabled access.
Departures: Toilets can be found at various locations throughout Terminal 4 departure building, many have disabled access, there are also baby care rooms opposite Austin Reed.
Showers: Showers can be found near gate 9 opposite Austin reed.
Arrivals: Toilets can be found at each end of the arrivals building, near reclaim area 1 and reclaim area 7 they have toilets suitable for wheelchair access and have baby care facilities. On the public side of arrivals these facilities are also available near Excess Baggage shop and further toilets available near the Heathrow Express ticket counter.
Showers: Showers can be found on the public side of arrivals near the Excess baggage shop.
Terminal 5
Departures: ( Before Security) The new terminal has sets of toilet blocks throughout the building that have toilets with disabled access and baby changing facilities. They have 3 before security one at each end and one situated next to Thomas cook services.
Departures: ( After Security) After security these toilet blocks are located near HMV and one near Huxley's
Arrivals: Toilet blocks are located to either side of the baggage reclaim area and two in the public concourse after security near Marks and Spencer Food and near Krispy Crème.
Terminal 5b: Toilets are situated either side of the building.
Gate level: Two toilet blocks are situated behind the medium size World Duty free (not the express one), another next to the Chocloate box and one next to V Bar.
