Transfers to Heathrow Hotels using Hotel Hoppa
The hotels at Heathrow cannot provide free shuttle buses to and from the hotel to the airport, due to BAA ‘s policy (Owner of Heathrow). Instead the options available are the “Hotel Hoppa” which operates on a fixed route to a number of hotels in the Heathrow airport vicinity. The buses depart from each of the Terminals 1,2 and 3 with a different route operating to terminal 5.
To get from Terminal 4 the best option is to use the Heathrow connect train, which runs every 15 minutes which is a free service traveling from Terminal 4 to the main, central Terminal 1, 2 and 3.
Hotel hoppa charges a flat rate for one way to any stop on the Hoppa route
- Adult : £4
- Child 3-15: £0.50
- Child less than 3: Free
Tickets can be bought at each of the Terminals where the bus stops using cash or credit/debit card, they can also be purchased from the driver if paying in sterling or online Here.
Hotels receptions also offer the “Hotel Hoppa” tickets for sale
Transfers to Heathrow Hotels using local free bus
The other bus option to get to the hotels, is to use the free local bus service subsidised by BAA. The service is free to all stops along the perimeter roads, with most stops usually within 100m of the majority of hotels. The service operates from the central bus station of Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 and 3, which you will have to make your way to. Convenience is one of the reasons people choose to use the Hoppa buses as they don’t have to get to the central terminal as they can leave from the arrival Terminal.
The final destination of the bus will determine how frequently the buses run, some come every 10 minutes during the busy times and operate on a 24 hour basis. The local buses do offer facilities for luggage storage with some being more suitable than others, look for buses that allow easy access for your luggage such as the 285. If your destination is outside the perimeter roads to one of the local towns the maximum fare you will pay is £2.00.
