The last 10 years have converted Bulgaria from a former Iron curtain nightmare into a bustling holiday destination for both sun seekers and Skiers. The lure of the beaches has brought many typical Spanish holiday makers to the Bulgarian coasts with many preferring the cheaper alternative and returning year after year. Sunny Beach is the most popular and largest of the beach resorts on the Black Sea having the longest (8Km) and widest beach(30-60 m) with a range of hotels overlooking the beach and sea and a good choice of sporting activities. Although the tourist industry is thriving in Bulgaria it is still in its infancy and much of Bulgaria's fantastic scenery is untouched and undiscovered by tourism. Public transport is cheap and readily available and is an ideal way to explore the country and move awya from the hustle and bustle of the city to the more relaxed way of life in the rural locations.

Bulgaria is a great destination for the skier on a budget and although the at the moment the ski areas are not large the government are taking an active interest in expanding these areas to promote the ski industry tourism. The Ski resorts in Bulgaria offer modern facilities and excellent ski schools. The three main resorts are Borovets, Pamporovo and Bansko are ideal to try out skiing or snowboarding.

The beaches, good summer weather and ski resort choices of Bulgaria have brought in hordes of investors purchasing property as though it was bread. The hype influencing the buying has led for developers to be greedy and build more and more whether the demand was there or not leaving an over saturated market. Property can still be bought cheap and can be a good investment opportunity be don't expect a quick turnaround and do your home work first.
