Situated near the Opera house is the enormous Royal Botanical gardens, well worth a visit. It is easy to walk the city center on foot, located above the port area is the old part of the town. The highest building is the 305 meters high Sydney Tower, which has a prospect platform and all-round visibility over the port. Monorail can; there are beside restaurants a Sega World park, Panasonic IMAX Theater, places of event with changing program, the Chinese garden, the navigation museum and the Sydney aquarium, a sea museum with glass-considered tunnels. Sydney lies in the subtropical climate zone, but due to the proximity to the coast it is not too hot. The annual average temperature is at 17,4 °C, in the winter nearly never falls the temperature below 5 °C. The lowest ever measured temperature were 2.1 °C. This weather makes the beaches, above all for the well-known Bondi Beach, particularly attractive for surfers and tourists.
